Yuanming Pan

Yuanming Pan received his B.Sc. from the Wuhan College of Geology (now China University of Geosciences) in 1985. He came to Canada in late 1986 and received a Ph.D. (supervised by Michael E. Fleet) from the University of Western Ontario in 1990. He stayed at UWO for three more years as a postdoctoral fellow and then took a position at the University of Saskatchewan in 1993, where he was promoted to full professor in 2002. His research interests range from mineralogy, geochemistry, and mineral deposits to applications of mineral spectroscopy. He served the Mineralogical Association of Canada as a councillor from 1997 to 2000 and co-chaired the local organizing committee of the 2002 Geological Association of Canada-Mineralogical Association of Canada meeting. He currently serves as Associate Editor for the Chinese Science Bulletin and Ore Geology Reviews.
