Stable Isotope Geochemistry of Low Temperature Fluids - E-Book
Stable Isotope Geochemistry of Low Temperature Fluids - E-Book
Topics in Mineral Sciences Volume 13
Editor: T. K. Kyser
Stable isotope geochemistry has become an important discipline within the earth sciences. It is a discipline that is applicable to almost all studies, from those concerning the paleoecology of extinct life forms to those that seek answers about the origin of the earth and solar system. In response to the popularity and versatility of stable isotope geochemistry, the Mineralogical Society of America sponsored a short course on the stable isotope geochemistry of high temperature processes and the Mineralogical Association of Canada has sponsored this short course on the stable isotope geochemistry of low temperature processes. It is no accident that there have been two complementary short courses in stable isotope geochemistry within a short period of time, nor is it by chance that these courses were sponsored by sister organizations in two different countries. Many of those involved with the birth and maturity of stable isotope geochemistry, including Sam Epstein, Bob Clayton, Harry Thode, actually came from Canada and who, like science itself, know no international boundaries. Their knowledge and diligence paved the path for the rest of us so it is to them that this volume is dedicated.
